comes to Provence
Join us for the full
5-day workshop
June 5 - 9, 2012
Story and manuscript development come alive at the Provence Writers Retreat led by NY Times best-selling author and literary agent Wendy Goldman Rohm. (See numerous testimonials at our home page.)
The Provence Writers Retreat is held at the Maison des Arts et Lettres in the village of Saignon, France--nestled in the Luberon region of Provence.
For centuries artistic souls have been drawn to Provence by a powerful, personal magic. Van Gogh, Cezanne, Matisse were lured by the luscious light; Camus, Fitzgerald and Colette thrived on the the magic and poetry of the place.
Your home and campus is the tiny village of Saignon, perched high on a mountain peak in the heart of Provence. The gorgeous natural and architectural treasures surrounding us are preserved as a regional park, attracting writers from around the world. The place is also a mecca for hikers, bikers, climbers, photographers, painters, historians, connoisseurs and gourmets.
Our site, the Maison des Arts et Lettres, is a historic building on the picturesque Place de L’Horloge, once part of the ramparts of the medieval village. The building still retains the chemin de ronde -- a covered walkway where medieval soldiers made their rounds -- as well as vestiges of the old signal tower.
The conference includes continental breakfast, and Provencal lunch with or without local wine from the region. In the evening, there are optional dinner excursions with the group.
For the full conference schedule, see the Schedule page.
